Eleventh Hour 10/9/08

Dr. Jacob hood is a scientific investigator. He is in Seattle investigating the possible cloning of babies. They have found 19 jars of medical waste they later determine to be attempts at cloning a human.

There is a pregnant woman, carrying a cloned baby. Her ex is a wife beater, he sees her in the grocery store and knocks her around. She is rescued by a strange woman, who describes herself as "your own personal nurse." They go to a warehouse where they have set up a makeshift clinic. She is in danger of losing the baby.

The man paying for the cloning is called Gipetto, like Pinocchio's father. Can't have a boy, you make your own. Dr. Hood and his body guard search the society pages and find a billionaire who has lost his son.

Meanwhile, the pregnant mom goes to the hospital after some serious bleeding. She'd been warned not to, she has a young boy and they have told her that DHS would take him if she did go to the hospital. They did. Once she is feeling better, she leaves her room, finds her boy and vanishes.

The cloning team finds her at her apartment. The police who have been monitoring suspicious pregnancies find out where she lives and go to her apartment. The ex gets there first and the personal nurse stabs him in the neck with scissors. When the Dr. and his body guard get there, the ex is still alive, the mom is gone, and the young boy is hiding in the room.

Dr. Hood asks the police to help him, but it might cost the police man his job.

The cloners are in another makeshift hospital. The girl is resting, the ob is scared he's going to jail, the personal nurse injects hims with something and he passes out.

The Dr. goes to the dad's house. They try to convince him that he needs to let his dead son go. They discuss their individual losses, the dad says when his son died his life was over. The dad says he just wants to see his son again. The doctor pulls out one of the jars with the dead cloned baby inside and opens it up and gives it to him. The doctor says his son is not his DNA, but every moment he ever spent with his father, every meal his mother had ever made him. Every moment his son lived is what made him his son.

The dad reveals to the doctor where they have taken the girl, the team goes and when they enter the clinic they hear the hum of a flatline. Another woman is performing CPR on the girl, the "personal nurse" attacks the body guard and gets beat up.

The doctor discovers that Gipetto is the woman performing CPR. She stops and leaves once her identity has been revealed. The doctor and the body guard try to revive her, which they do. But she lost he baby. She also cannot have any more babies.

The doctor gets a call on his cell and tells his body guard they have a situation they need to get to.

****Good, but not great. It is a Jerry Bruckheimer production, so we'll be giving it more chances.

CSI 10/9/08

Warrick is dead. Didn't think they'd do it, but he's dead.

We all know that Under Sheriff McKeen did it, we saw it at the end of last season. When Grissom gets to the scene he finds McKeen there, McKeen claims to be a witness. He was going to the diner they had all been at to tell Warrick he could keep his job. You'll remember that Warrick had just been released from jail for killing the mob boss Gedda. He didn't actually do it, a beat cop named Pritchard had killed him, and framed Warrick.

Grissom held Warrick as he died. The team shows up one by one, Grissom tells Eckle that they will be the ones processing.

They quickly determine that Pritchard did not do it. Warrick's passenger window had been rolled down, Warrick would not have rolled down his window to speak with a guy who had just framed him for murder.

The team also determines that McKeen could not have heard a gunshot from where he claimed to be. There was a night club in the alley and their music was too loud. They determine that it must be McKeen. First witness is always first suspect.

Sarah had returned to Vegas when she heard the news, as she and lab boy were at Warrick's they find out that he had a son. We later learn his ex wife had a baby, a boy named Eli. Warrick had a video of his psychological submitted to determine who was the more fit parent. On it, he says even though his father and mother had died, he had a father figure, he never says but we can assume it is Grissom.

McKeen had been keeping Pritchard in some cheap hotel, and had gone to retrieve him. They left under the guise of McKeen helping Pritchard escape to Mexico. While enroute, Brass phones him to give him an update, and also to triangulate his cell signal. They find him and Stokes goes with Brass to nab McKeen and Pritchard.

Pritchard has figured out that he's going to die if he doesn't do something drastic, he ends up shooting McKeen while they are driving down the road, hoping he'll survive the crash, he doesn't.

Nick and Brass find the crash and Nick follows a blood trail into the woods. He finds McKeen with a major stomach wound. McKeen starts to tell Nick about how he shot Warrick, how he did it because Warrick was stupid, trying to get Nick to put him out of his own misery. Brass hears a gunshot and finds Nick standing over a motionless McKeen with a gun pointed at his head.

Nick tells Brass they need to get him a medivac. Brass asks "what was that shot?"

Nick says "A miss."

Yea! Nick for keeping him miserable, keeping him alive to live with himself. Also keeping him in a great deal of pain for the foreseeable future.

At Warrick's funeral, Grissom speaks. Says the words they are trained to offer, "I'm sorry for your loss," don't offer much. He says he'll miss him.

Criminal Minds 10-8-08

The worst EVER special effect is featured in the opening scene. Hello, is it still 1970.

Prentiss and Reid are off to Colorado, to interview a polygamist who is accused of forcing underage girls to marry older men. Prentiss tells the local not to identify them as FBI agents.

The car pulls up to the ranch, which is gated. The men open the gate, and they pull up to the main compound to speak to the leader. (Played by Luke Perry, who in no way shape or form would have to force any one to marry him. We'd all go willingly.)

He points them towards the school where the girls have been gathered to be interviewed. Reid stays behind to discuss the solar panels on the ranch. The leader asks if he's surprised that they are self sufficient, Reid says "no, impressed." The leader thanks him for admitting it.

The girls give the answer that you would expect. Except when one of the girls admits that she is married to Cyrus. (oops) She says it's an honor to bear his children. Before they can ask anymore questions, the men of the compound burst in with automatic weapons and Cyrus asks them if they have any information about a "raid maybe?" Next scene is several black Suburbans speeding down the road with SWAT coming out in riot gear. They break down the door and report that the school is empty.

Everyone has been forced down into a tunnel. The Police realize that they were expected and fearing the worst the head police guy orders everyone out, where they are met with a whole lot of gunfire. SWAT is trying to break down other doors, without any success. Inside the tunnel Prentiss and Reid discover an arsenal. Cyrus tells the families that God will protect them.

Cyrus goes back above ground and tells his men to cease fire. They cannot hear him because of all of the gun play. The State Police officer that accompanied Reid and Prentiss to the compound says she'll go up and talk to them. Prentiss tries to stop her, before she can get a word out, a bullet gets her in the stomach.

Cyrus gives the police a chance to retreat and they take him up on it. The colony announces that they are gone. Reid whispers "Not for long."

The team shows up, about the same time as the Attorney General for the state, played by (the slacker attorney from Dharma and Greg, he and Greg, I mean Hotch have a fight, FUNNY)

They verify that Reid and Prentiss are ok. Rossi takes them supplies, with bugs in them, the first thing they hear is a "celebration" where they all drink wine. Guess what? Poisoned. Reid and Prentiss did not drink, but we get a close up of all the cute little kids.

Reid and Prentiss also notice that the girl who allegedly called 911 to report that there were underage marriages taking place, worshipped the leader. It was her mother that tried to come between them.

The team is all panicked, they have to go in. "No, we can't people will die." "They are already dieing."

Prentiss and Reid determine that there was no poison. Just a test to see who was going to panic and who would follow to the end. Cyrus confirms it.

Morgan is talking to the former leader. Turns out Cyrus was raised there. When he was 17 he was kicked out for messing with little girls. He came back several years later and forced the leader out. The leader is now in jail for evading taxes and more than willing to help the FBI send that "ungrateful little bastard straight to hell."

Garcia gets info, he had spent time in prison. They deduce that he is worried about returning to prison on child molestation charges. They have to convince him that he would not go to jail.

Just then the news reports that the Attorney General's office has just told them that there are undercover FBI agents inside. Cyrus comes to where Reid and Prentiss are and asks which of them is the FBI agent. He holds a gun to Reid and Prentiss says it's her. Cyrus then grabs Prentiss by the hair and drags her off while the other men hold Reid with automatic weapons.

The team sits by and listens to Prentiss get the crap kicked out of her. She is sending subliminal messages to the team who she knows is listening, telling them not to come in.

Prentiss gets cared for by the mother of the child bride. Prentiss knows that mom is a would be defector, but the mother runs off.

Reid is asked if he knew she was FBI. He says in all the time he'd worked with Nancy, the local police who was killed, she'd never lied to him. Reid is offering tips on how to test the FBI to see if they are honest. It would require them to release Prentiss and a kid. They don't want to but he reason's that it is only one kid and it will be a good exchange for information. Cyrus offers up the orphan if they tell the identity of the FBI agent. The team was listening so they know what Reid had told them.

Morgan goes to get the girl that released. Rossi tells Cyrus that her name is Emily Prentiss. They assemble everyone in the chapel. Reid sees Prentiss and apologizes. They start reading names, Reid says it's the names of those who failed the loyalty test. Cyrus tells the ones whose names ere called to get their belongings and he releases them. Cyrus then asks for 'fried chicken with all the fixins". Sounds like a last meal request to me.

Reid communicates to the team that he is looking for a sign as to when they are coming.

They scribble a note on the Fried Chicken fixins that are coming in. 3 a.m. Prentiss sticks her foot on the window to indicate where she is in the building. Morgan goes and signals to her that they are coming at three. The mom of the child bride comes to speak to Prentiss. Prentiss tells her that Cyrus is planning a mass suicide and that she knows that the mom made the 911 call. The mom says it's all her fault, she wanted to save her daughter. Prentiss tells her that the FBI is coming and that she needs to squirrel them away in the tunnels just before then. The mom leaves without saying anything.

She passes the men laying dynamite on the stairs. Rossi and Morgan are getting on their rito gear, the mom goes to start waking the children. She tells her daughter to get the women and children to the tunnels. The mom then goes to tell Prentiss that it's about to happen. Prentiss goes to find Reid. Cyrus then goes and starts shooting into the air. About that time the FBI goes in and starts picking them men off one by one. Morgan runs into Prentiss and the women and children. The child bride freaks and breaks off to go warn Cyrus.

Cyrus accuses Reid of trying to convert his brothers because he's quoting scripture. The FBI comes in and shoots the men. The child bride picks up the remote and triggers it. Reid and Morgan were inside but are ok. The child bride is the only child not to make it.

"Reason is not automatic, those who deny it cannot be conquered by it." Ayn Rand

Prentiss assures Reid that what happened to her was not his fault and they share a little moment of hand touching.

The Biggest Loser 10-8-08

Last night we left off with Amy Purple getting booted from the gym for laughing during a Jillian rant, oops. She came back and everyone was happy.

The girls spent a lot of time doing "emotional work" ie, crying. OK people, you won the losing weight lottery, get over it and get with it.

Bob's team went to Subway. He made them walk from the far end of the parking lot. Subway rocks, especially when you walk.

This weeks trainer tip. Skip the High Fructose Corn Syrup. (We're trying Bob, it's in everything)

At the weigh in, we are repeating the new thing from last week, one team falls below the yellow line and they decide amongst themselves which of them will leave. Unless Yellow falls below, since Colleen is the only member left on her team, she would automatically go home.

Brown lost 12 pounds or 2.3%.
Purple lost 9 pounds or 2.19%.
Pink lost 9 pounds or 1.95%.
Red lost 8 pounds or 1.62%
Yellow lost 3 pounds or 1.54%.
Orange lost 8 pounds or 1.4%. They needed to lose more than 8. Heba lost 8 and Ed lost ZERO.

Ed and Heba had an hour to decide which of them would go home. Ed wants her to stay, so she can get healthy enough to have a baby. Heba thinks he should stay, because he'd lose a big number next week. Good points on both sides. So Ed goes home. He said sweet things as he was leaving. Basically his wedding vows, although I doubt that he said "you're the most determined damned woman I've ever met" during the wedding, but we get it.

They lost 64 pounds in one month as a family.

When Ed arrived at the ranch he weighed 335 pounds. He has lost a total of 85 pounds. He looks amazing. He would like to weigh 180 at the finale.

The Biggest Loser 10/7/08

Due to the Presidential Debates we only got one hour tonight, but do not despair, the second hour will air tomorrow.

So, what happened? Red went home. Not for good, they cashed in their free pass home from the first week.

Purple went on their 24 hours with Jillian. Shellay kept holding on to the stair stepper. She got yelled at. Jillian has been trying to be nice. It's not working. It got worse. With five girls left on her team, they didn't do their homework, and they got yelled at BIG TIME. They didn't do the work, Jillian even kicked Amy Purple out of the gym for the day because she was laughing at her.

The challenge for the week was being suspended in a pool of water by chains, standing on a bar and holding on over head. Wobbly chains, like there are any other type. Easy at first, but the water was slowly draining out, making the chains more wobbly. One by one they fell until it was down to Amy Purple and Vickie Brown. The prize was letters from home. Brown won at 107 minutes. Of course she got to pick another team to get letters as well, she chose Purple.

Whose whining? Every girl on Jillians team. Which is all of them, now that the Dad's and only son went home. They aren't doing their homework, it hurts. WAhhhh. Vickie Brown is whining too, nothing new. But she did tell her husband that she felt he was pressuring her to spend less time in the gym. So, we'll give her a whine/not whine ratio of zero, because whining was cancelled out by standing up for herself. Go Vickie.

Tomorrow, we find out if Jillian's team will be depleted further. If they don't pull it together, Bob will win for the first time, when up against Jillian. Yeah, I know Red girl lost to him, but she was too easy, and conspicuously absent for several seasons now.
