BACHELORETTE 2011

Ashley Hebert is the new Bachelorette this season. It was a crazy opening night show.

Tim was so wasted that the other guys had to help him to a car and send him home, even before the rose ceremony....he's a liquor distributor...GO FIGURE!

Ashley eliminated 7 guys and kept 18. I can cut her 18 in half to 9! Here are my top picks....

Ryan P. (31): got the first impression rose....my favorite overall.

Ben F. (28): makes wine.

 Nick (26): cute blonde.

Ryan M. (27): made a good first impression.

Blake (27): He and Ashley are both dentists.

Ben C. (28): Spoke French and made Ashley laugh.

 William (30): Cute

JP (34): Made her laugh and they had a good conversation going.

Ames (31): Gave her ballet tickets and said he wanted to take her dancing.

Of the other 9 she kept there are only two worth mentioning and that is only because they caused controversy.

Jeff (35): only because he is still wearing that stupid mask and calling himself, "poised." Very weird! He wants Ashley to see his inner beauty.

Then there is this guy.....

...Bentley (28)...who Ashley was warned about by a previous cast member...saying that he was only on the show for his 15 minutes of fame. In the previews for future shows he tells the camera that he isn't attracted to Ashley and could care less about staying. Oh...he has a daughter named, Cozy!

Here are the other guys she chose to keep:

 Constantime (30)
 Lucas (30)
 Stephen (27)
 Matt (28)
 Chris D. (25)
 Mickey (31)
West (30)

We'll see if these guys impress me enough next week, that I want to talk about them.

The Biggest Loser 10/14/08

The episode starts out in the temptation room. The room is filled with cupcakes, brownies, peanut butter cups, everything yummy and sugary. The temptation is that whomever eats the most calories in ten minutes has the power to choose the teams and the trainers. It's now Blue v. Black. And another thing. They turn out the lights so no one knows what anyone else is eating.

Heba speaks up and volunteers that she will eat a donut and keep the teams the way they are. Everyone says that's a great idea. But in the cut in interview Red team seems to think that Heba tries to control and manipulate everything. Heba played the "I just lost my husband card." Jillians current team all start crying that it's unfair that if they leave the teams as is, then Bob's team has two boys. Of course they forget that Jillian has NEVER lost this game. While the women are all crying about what to do, Red guy stands up and eats, in order to control his own destiny. Red continues to eat peanut butter cups, Heba starts eating donuts. When Red takes a wrapper off of the peanut butter cup, the it makes a noise. Heba then tries to figure out how many he's eaten. Drama, drama, drama.

Heba ends up eating two donuts. Amy Purple eats one brownie, and Phil, Red ate two peanut butter cups. No one else ate anything. Heba ate the most calories and won the temptation. She is given a half hour to decide teams.

Amy Red is upset that she's going to lose Bob as her trainer, or her husband to another team. Amy Purple wants to be on a team with a guy.

Blue team is
Heba Orange
Vicky Brown
Amy Red
Amy Purple
Brady Brown

Black team is
Renee' Pink
Colleen Yellow
Michelle Pink
Phil Red
Shellay Purple

Trainer Tips: Jillian says make your eating out more healthy by making special requests look for steamed, broiled, baked, grilled, poached or roasted. If all else fails go the salad route.

Bob shows up to find the Blue Team in the kitchen. Amy and Heba both start crying. Vicky explained what was going on. Heba didn't care about the numbers she was mad at Phil. Bob is pissed off he thinks her decision was "stupid". He pulled Amy aside to get her side of the story. (Keep in mind that Heba lost 8 pounds last week, she's going to have a LOW number, I'm guessing she's going to get to see her husband soon.)

Jillian got the Black teams story. They were off to work out. Michelle wanted to talk to Jillian about her emotions. Talking more about the divorce, again. Like her parents are the first in history to divorce. It's not your fault, get over it.

The next morning at 5:55 Allison wakes everyone up and tells them to meet in front of the gym in ten minutes. Heba is complaining. The challenge will last 14 hours, from sun up til sun down. They have all day to climb the mountain as many times as they can. There are camera's on the top of the hill and in front of the gym. Every time they climb the hill they have to take a picture, if they can get all five team members in the same picture it is worth bonus points. The winning team gets a two pound pass.

Blue was having trouble staying together. Vicky was hurting. The blue team decided they would split up. Brady was going to try to make up the difference. By 10:30 it was 98 degrees out. It eventually got to 112 degrees. Both teams decided to take a break, trusting that no one would go up and down the hill during the break. Shellay decided to go and check if everyone was taking a break, she went to talk to Colleen. The game was getting to them, they were feeling guilty, and they couldn't rest during the break. But Colleen wouldn't break her word. The blue team stayed together for the first climb. Black stayed together the whole time.

With 90 seconds left Shellay was behind and had to run to make the final team picture. The black team got 162 points, Brady from the Blue team ran over 20 miles. Blue got 147 points.

Trainer tips: Bob says hiking is a great form of exercise. He says to run on the inclines, stay hydrated, bring a lunch, make a day of it.

Time for a Jello plug by the pool. Bob tells Amy to go and get the Cool Whip in a can. Ten calories here, twenty calories here.

Then they tell him about the challenge and it's off to the gym.

Jillian pulls Michelle aside to try and talk her out of leaving the campus. She has Michelle call her dad. Dad tells her to stay there, and that she's not betraying him by loving her mom. Michelle still isn't sure she's going to stay. Michelle discusses it with her mom. Mom says no matter what I'll love you. Michelle looks as though the advice wasn't helpful.

Bob then plugs milk, it has protein to build lean muscle mass. Potassium, calcium. Everything but the mustache. He didn't drink his though, yes I noticed. Go to whymilk.com to learn more.

Michelle decides to stay. Happy times. Let's weigh in

Black team

Michelle lost 7 pounds.
Renee lost 5 pounds.
Phil lost 8 pounds.
Coleen lost 5 pounds.
Shellay lost 5 pounds.
The team lost a total of 2.84% including the 2 pound weight bonus.

Blue team
Amy Purple lost 9 pounds. Putting her in the 100's.
Vicky lost 6 pounds.
Brady lost 6 pounds.
Amy Red lost 6 pounds.
Heba lost 8 pounds. Again. For the second week in a row.
The team lost a total of 2.96% sending the Black team into elimination.

Black votes
Michelle votes Shellay.
Phil votes Renee.
Renee votes Shellay.
Shellay votes Renee.
Coleen votes Shellay. Leaving the Michelle Renee alliance intact. Poor move Coleen. That makes two votes, and unless you get immunity you're going home. Yuck.

Shellay is looking hot at home. She feels young and energetic. She started out at 216. She was wearing a size 18 and now wears a size ten and hopes to wear a six at the finale.

CSI Miami 10/13/08

Who cares? I watched My Own Worst Enemy on NBC. I hope that the CSI's have good syndication contracts because it is so OVER for them. I don't even care to watch it for the hilarity that is H. I love Christian Slater. He's sexy and that other thing. He can act. And he can act convincingly like two people, in the first episode. I've been waiting to be convinced that H is H for how many years now? Too many. By this time he should be the Fonz. Never again should he be able to appear in anything without someone yelling out "Horatio Caine" you know, like when Gary Sinise was in Apollo 13 and everytime he appeared on screen the entire audience would yell "Lieutenant Dan". I don't ask for much. I want one of two things. To always associate and actor with a character that I love, Lt. Dan, or to be convinced that the actor is the person he is playing no matter what he is playing.

BTW, I find Gary Sinise to be awesome. I just really loved Lt. Dan. I am quite convinced that Gary is who he is playing in anything I've seen him in. Even more so with Christian Slater. So, I will not be staying up late on Monday's to blog about CSI Miami. I might catch up by the weekend, but don't hold your collective breath. I'm am so over it.

My Own Worst Enemy 10/13/08

BEST SHOW EVER If you missed it NBC will be repeating it Saturday night, middle hour. To some that means 9 (Eastern and Pacific) to the middle that means 8.

The show opens up with a Henry opening up his computer. On it is him. He is telling himself. "My name is Edward and by now you've forgotten all about me. First call your wife and tell her that you won't make the soccer game, your life depends on it."

So, Henry Spivey is a 40 year old corporate America guy, wife, two kids, house in the burbs. But he is really a memory created by a secret government organization, that covers for Edward Albright (I'm pretty sure, I'm not checking right now too excited.) who is a super spy. Edward was the all American boy, little league, football, then his parents were killed in a car accident. He went on to the Army and 19 years ago, to keep him securely undercover, they created a split personality, which is Henry. Henry has no idea that Edward exists. Edward knows of Henry, but reluctantly allows his controllers to put Edward to sleep so that Henry can protect him.

This episode begins in Paris, Edward is there to catch a Russian bad guy. He has arranged for his favorite Russian bad girl to meet him. Edward and Natasha spend a steamy evening in their hotel overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Edward asks Natasha to help him find Uzi, she tells him it's impossible, he gets a call she takes a shower. When she comes out of the bathroom, she shoots the bed. Edward had anticipated this, and is sitting in the chair and shoots her.

When he returns to the states, his boss, played by Alfre Woodard yells at him for killing the target. Said she was needed, and Alfre's character accused Edward of killing a target to prevent someone he cared for some torture. They agree to disagree and Edward leaves.

He is met by the computer geek who is in charge of his personalities and memories. Geek guy asks if there were any continuity problems. Edward says he cut himself shaving. Geek guy goes to the billion dollar computer in the back, implants some memories of a convention in Akron, names, the fat guy on the flight, the shaving cut. Then asks Edward if he is ready to go to sleep. Edward asks if he has a choice. They show some vision irregularities and when the elevator opens out steps Henry reporting to his boss the full events of the convention in Akron, down to the fat guy on the plane. He later meets with the staff psychologist where he says he had a dream about being in Paris, and he even has a souvenir, a matchbook from the hotel in Paris.

Henry goes home, we meet the family. Basic every day white picket fence suburban family. While trying to get to sleep that night, Henry has troubles with his vision. He gets up to make a phone call to none other than geek guy. It's Edward wondering why he's awake. He asks that he be allowed to stay up for an hour to watch some baseball highlights. Geek guy calls boss lady, and asks if they should initiate termination.

Next day Henry goes back to work, has a discussion with his boss Tom (played by the brother in law on Yes Dear) about how they never get to spend any time with the family. Henry is met by the secondary boss lady who tells him he's off to solve a problem in Albany, she's already called the wife, Henry steps on to the elevator, googly eye thing, Edward gets off the elevator and is told he's going to Russia to get Uzi.

Next scene, Edward is in Russia with a sniper rifle trained on what one would presume to be Uzi. He's told not to shoot. Googly eye thing, Henry appears, quite confused as to why he's holding a sniper rifle. Accidently discharges the weapon and starts a major gun battle that Henry cannot handle. SWAT type guy comes in and rescues Henry, but not before killing half a dozen people, and getting blood all over a freaked out Henry. When they get back in the car Henry realizes it's his boss Tom. But Tom says his name is Raymond. Raymond tells Henry he has to calm down, because he has to call Tom's wife. Raymond tells his/Tom's wife that he wished he could come home but he's needed in Cleveland. After the call Raymond puts Henry in the floor boards of the truck and smuggles him out of Russia.

Henry has the finer points of his life explained to him. He is taken to Edward's house because Henry's wife isn't expecting him home for another day. Henry gets drunk, calls his wife, finds Edward's super spy stash, and his car keys. Drunk Henry decides he's going to drive himself home. Halfway home, Edward reappears, but decides to continue on the Henry's house. He goes home, wakes up the wife....The next moring Henry wakes up, confused as to why he's naked and at home. Wondering why the wife is cooking him a HUGE breakfast feast. His wife is all over him, but is interrupted by the kids needing a ride to school. Henry then notices the note in Sharpie on his hand that says "Never touch my car again" to which Henry replies, "you slept with my wife."

Back at head quarters, Henry is struggling with the thought of having his memories erased so they can reboot the program. He wants his life to be real. Alfre Woodards says "You'll think it is."

Next we see of Henry he is coming into his house. He's talking to his wife telling her he's on his way to the soccer game. The doorbell rings and there is a Russian at the door, and one behind him. They duct tape him up and threaten to kill his family if he lies to them. After a couple of close calls Henry tells them he doesn't know what they are talking about because he is two people. They go to Henry's car, to find a GPS and a shovel. Henry says Edward must have buried the treasure they are looking for and he'll help find it.

Henry is digging a hole in the desert of California, when they find a case. The main Russian has his lackey open it. At that point he tells Henry there are worse places to be buried, and goes on about how it's a shame that Henry would never get to meet Edward, that they couldn't communicate. Henry tells the Russian they do communicate and Edward had a message. Then Henry blows up the case, killing both of the Russians. He then drives home in his unscathed Chevy that was parked not ten feet away from the blast.

The entire message from Edward to Henry is played. Edward explains that he has to follow his instructions or he and his family will die. He lays out the plan that was just played out.

Henry agrees to go along with the back and forth until they can fix whatever computer problems are causing it. He just wants his life back. Henry goes to therapy and tells the therapist that he's just going through a stage in life where he is wondering if this is really his life. Paris was just a fantasy.

Finally, a message from Henry to Edward, telling Edward there is a difference between driving a guys car and driving a guys wife. Edward shuts it off and fade to black.

Previews indicate that the wife really likes Edward. I so love this show.

Eleventh Hour 10/9/08

Dr. Jacob hood is a scientific investigator. He is in Seattle investigating the possible cloning of babies. They have found 19 jars of medical waste they later determine to be attempts at cloning a human.

There is a pregnant woman, carrying a cloned baby. Her ex is a wife beater, he sees her in the grocery store and knocks her around. She is rescued by a strange woman, who describes herself as "your own personal nurse." They go to a warehouse where they have set up a makeshift clinic. She is in danger of losing the baby.

The man paying for the cloning is called Gipetto, like Pinocchio's father. Can't have a boy, you make your own. Dr. Hood and his body guard search the society pages and find a billionaire who has lost his son.

Meanwhile, the pregnant mom goes to the hospital after some serious bleeding. She'd been warned not to, she has a young boy and they have told her that DHS would take him if she did go to the hospital. They did. Once she is feeling better, she leaves her room, finds her boy and vanishes.

The cloning team finds her at her apartment. The police who have been monitoring suspicious pregnancies find out where she lives and go to her apartment. The ex gets there first and the personal nurse stabs him in the neck with scissors. When the Dr. and his body guard get there, the ex is still alive, the mom is gone, and the young boy is hiding in the room.

Dr. Hood asks the police to help him, but it might cost the police man his job.

The cloners are in another makeshift hospital. The girl is resting, the ob is scared he's going to jail, the personal nurse injects hims with something and he passes out.

The Dr. goes to the dad's house. They try to convince him that he needs to let his dead son go. They discuss their individual losses, the dad says when his son died his life was over. The dad says he just wants to see his son again. The doctor pulls out one of the jars with the dead cloned baby inside and opens it up and gives it to him. The doctor says his son is not his DNA, but every moment he ever spent with his father, every meal his mother had ever made him. Every moment his son lived is what made him his son.

The dad reveals to the doctor where they have taken the girl, the team goes and when they enter the clinic they hear the hum of a flatline. Another woman is performing CPR on the girl, the "personal nurse" attacks the body guard and gets beat up.

The doctor discovers that Gipetto is the woman performing CPR. She stops and leaves once her identity has been revealed. The doctor and the body guard try to revive her, which they do. But she lost he baby. She also cannot have any more babies.

The doctor gets a call on his cell and tells his body guard they have a situation they need to get to.

****Good, but not great. It is a Jerry Bruckheimer production, so we'll be giving it more chances.
