Yay TV!

Annie incited me to contribute to this blog and I am very excited because in lieu of any exciting social life I have chosen to have a very meaningful relationship with DVR. Because of this miraculous invention, I can record all my various shows and watch them at my convenience.

Monday
  • How I Met Your Mother
  • Dancing with the Stars (I fast forward through all, but the actual dances and the scores)
Tuesday
  • House
  • Law and Order: Special Victims Unit
Wednesday
  • Bones
  • Criminal Minds (absolute favorite, far and away! my TV husband is on this show)
Thursday
  • The Office
  • My Name is Earl
  • Grey's Anatomy (maybe; lost interest last season)
  • ER (got to be there for the last season)
Friday
  • Psych (not on right now, but it will be back in January)
  • Starter Wife (new!)
Sunday
  • Army Wives (summer show, but still on for now)
There are some other new shows, or new to me shows that I will try out, but these are the ones I will hit most often.

I love TV

Annie invited me to post here...I've never done this before so I'm going to play it safe and post something I've already posted on my own blog. Thanks for inviting me Annie!

The tv shows I'm looking forward to seeing this fall are:

* Dancing With The Stars
* Eli Stone

* The Unit
* Worst Week (new)
* The Mentalist (new)
* Survivor Gabon
* CSI
* Ghost Whisperer
* Numbers

* Kitchen Nightmares

Eli Stone and Ghost Whisperer are my two favorites. Thank God I have TIVO. What are you going to be watching? Who's hooked on what?

Fall 08 TV - Drama

Last year we had an abbreviated tv season. This year is going to be better than every!!!! Here's what I'm waiting for.

Criminal Minds. When we last left the FBI Profilers they were all getting into their Government issued, no doubt Hybrid, SUV's and KABOOOM. One of them blows up. But whose. Based on commercials leading up to the new season, it's not anybody. Probably a fake stunt to get us to come back. If I got to place my vote....not Spencer and not Garcia and not Hotch and not NOT NOT Morgan. Please not Morgan.

CSI: Warrick got the bejeebers shot out of him, by the creepy, evil, detective dude. I think he's alive. Sarah is back, just to help with the Warrick case. Then, rumor has it, her and Grissom drive off into the sunset. So, Warrick HAS to live, who would be left, Stokes, Catherine and that creepy lab guy. No, Warrick has to stay.

Eli Stone. This was a mid season replacement. I wouldn't have watched it otherwise. But I am oh so glad that I did. It is awesome. Eli, sees and hears things that others cannot. Is it his brain aneurysm? Is it God? He claims not to believe in God, but his "spiritual" advisor/acupuncturist explains that God is everywhere, in everything, in every time. Sounds like God to me. Now I know that to pitch a GOD is everywhere, in everything show to the networks wouldn't fly, but I'm glad that it may get some people to think. Also, Eli - or rather the guy who plays Eli, Angelina Jolie's first husband.

Pushing Daisies
I am so glad this is back, I hope they change NOTHING about it. A love story, without the possibility of sex. Now, don't get me wrong, I like sex as much as the next guy, but tv shows built around 'when are they going to have sex' no thanks. Sex is out of the picture because the main character, Ned, and his love interest, Chuck (it's a girl Charlene), can't touch. They can't touch because Ned had a gift of bringing people back from the dead. Touch them once, alive. Touch them twice, dead forever. He uses his special skill to solve murders, when one day he happened on to the love of his life. Chuck lived across the street from him when they were children. When Chuck's father died she was sent to live with her aunts. They never saw each other again, til she was dead. He touched her, because he couldn't not touch her, and he didn't touch her again, which he usually does after he finds out who killed them. Now they are happy, in love, and can never touch again. They get around the romantic parts of their love by wearing gloves to hold hands, and she happens to be a beekeeper, so when she's beekeeping they can dance. Even kissing is possible because he's a baker, and she does this cute thing with Saran Wrap. It's just awfully cute, and a musical to boot. I know, sounds lame, but it's not.

CSI: Miami
Who knows what's happening, and who cares. We don't watch CSI: Miami because of the story, we watch because of the horrible acting. It's a train wreck and we line up every week for it. But if I remember correctly Horatio got shot about a bazillion times in the cliffhanger. He has a kid with an ex informant who married a billionaire and then killed him for the money. She then married her true love a guy who is going to kill and her son for her money. But I don't really care. I'm still hoping the resurrect Speedle in some sort of undercover government thing. I just like it when H comes to rescue Calleigh, who he's known for years, and calls her "ma'am" does that make sense? NO. It's hilarious.

Life Oh, I so cannot wait for this one. Murder, intrigue, mystery and weirdness. I love it. Although, it is built on the premise of "when are these two going to have sex?" But when we last left it, Crews had just figured out that his current partner has an evil father. The evil father murdered Crews former partner, and framed Crews. Crews spent 12 years in prison, then got a bazillion dollar judgement and was released. Instead of taking his money and enjoying his life, he has set out to solve the murder for which he did the time. It has led him back to his partner's father.

This are the major dramas I follow. We'll do comedies and reality later.

I'm Baaack and So is New TV

I started this last year, about the time TV ended for the writers strike. There were a few tv moments, but I was broken. I missed my tv watching.

This was started because I love tv. I love writing, and really how much more can I talk about here or here. I don't like talking on the phone, therefore I cannot chat with my g-friends about what has happened on tv. My husband doesn't care. He loves and adores me, but can't stand to listen to what is happening on the telly.

So this year it will be bigger and better than ever. I am SOOOOOOOO looking forward to the exciting resolution to the cliffhangers. But that will be a different posting.

What I need now, is help. I cannot possibly watch every tv show on. Especially come February when everything goes digital, I'm expecting more people to watch more tv. So, if you can play by the rules, come on over and play.

The Rules

You must write a detailed account. I want every spoiler, every nuance, everything that sucks you into the show. I want to know what you love, what you hate, opinions, critiques, whatever you want to write about.

In order to keep your author rights you may only post about the show on this site. You must use the "links to this post" feature. You can write a very short blurb on your own site, like "check out what happened last night, you won't believe it....." but keep it at one very short paragraph.

You can link to your own blog at the end of your posting with something like, "what's going on in my real life" or something similar.

The title of every blog must be in this format CSI: Crime Scene Investigators 9-4-08.
Each post needs a label. You can put the "legal" title of the show as well as your own name. That way everyone can read up on what you yourself have written or by the show.

There may be others out there that are reviewing the same shows you are. That's ok. I want everyones critiques. I am a stat ho. Sorry but it's true. The first step is to recognize.

"Well, if you are such a stat ho, why don't you just put all your blogs together and have one big happy hit gathering thang?"

Good question. This deals soley with issues that come from raising born of the heart kids. It is also two clicks away from my church. I don't really feel it's appropriate to talk about who Dexter is killing this week on a site that could have eternal repercussions. This deals with my day to day life. Christian world view with some angst. My other site is private. So anyway, we'll see how it goes.

So, if you LOOOOVE tv like I do, come back and write or come back and read, just come back.

tv

Nothing.

Hoping this writer's strike is over soon. I need to know what is going on on Wisteria Lane. What is Charlie Crew's going to do with his partner's daddy now that he know about the missing daughter? And, Ned, why did you have to tell Chuck about killing her dad, you didn't mean to, you were a kid and wanted your mom to live. Give the writers their 2.5 cents. Otherwise we'll have to live with "reality" and Cashmere Mafia and Lipstick Jungle. Dumb names, may be good shows, but I'm already not interested.

Things I'm not liking....

Bad Girls, can you say gold ring in a pig's snout. Maybe that's too good for these girls.

Girls Next Door. Holly, he's not going to marry you or leave you any money. Get over it.

Things I'm liking....

Biggest Loser. These guys lose more weight, do it faster and keep it off longer than the patients on Big Medicine. And the "Losers" look better because they have some muscle definition.

Supernanny. I know they put every "episode" the kid has for two weeks in a half hour but dang, some of these people have no clue.

Wifeswap. Should the thought even drift across my mind that my husband is not the perfect man for me, I think of every episode of Wifeswap and thank God.

Jon and Kate Plus 8. Also, there is always someone out there who has it worse than me.

Extreme Makeover Home Edition. All about giving. Love it.

Looking forward to....

The Baby Borrowers. A bunch of know it all teens who are in love, think they want a baby. Nothing like letting them try it out solo for a day or five. The tagline is this isn't tv it's birth control.

Oprah's Big Give. Who can give away the most money. Love it.
